HBU Hosts Study-and-Exchange for HK, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese Students and Foreign Teachers
On September 25, 2025, Hebei University, together with the Baoding Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, organized a visit and exchange activity for university students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese, and for foreign faculty, to Baoding High-tech Zone Experimental School and the Great Wall Motor Technology Center
At the Experimental School of the High-tech Zone in Baoding, our teachers and students visited the Chinese Character Culture Exhibition Hall, where they had close encounters with artifacts and documents bearing the genetic heritage of Chinese civilization. They gained a systematic understanding of the evolution of Chinese characters from oracle bone script and bronze inscriptions to regular script, as well as the profound cultural connotations these characters embody. At the same time, our teachers and students engaged in in-depth exchanges with the school’s teachers and students in the classrooms.
Subsequently, our teachers and students toured the Great Wall Technology Center, where, through the guide’s explanations, they learned in detail about Great Wall Motor’s cutting-edge design achievements, new-concept vehicles, new energy design, and new production philosophies, thereby gaining firsthand insight into the innovative spirit of Baoding’s enterprises.
Through this practical activity, our students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese, as well as our foreign teachers, deeply appreciated the breadth and depth of Chinese character culture and the development history and advanced technologies of China’s automobile industry. This enhanced the cultural identification and sense of belonging of students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, strengthened cultural confidence, and stimulated students’ conscious willingness to inherit and promote Chinese culture. Meanwhile, the activity helped our foreign teachers understand Chinese culture, promoted cross-cultural exchange and communication between teachers and students, and advanced mutual learning and integration between Chinese and foreign cultures.
