Dean of Confucius Institute at Nouakchott University attends the Belt and Road and China-Mauritania Cooperation Seminar organized by the Chinese Embas

      In the afternoon of May 10th there, the Chinese Embassy in Mauritania hosted a seminar on the Belt and Road and China-Mauritania Cooperation. Shao Baohui, the Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute at Nouakchott University was invited to participate.

      The seminar was presided by the Counselor Wang Jian and he also delivered a keynote speech, which mainly explained the keynote speech of President Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the 2nd “Belt and Road” International Cooperation Summit and elaborated its significance of friendly cooperation among China, African and Arab countries, especially with Mauritania. After the speech of the Counselor Wang, the guests also spoke freely about the Belt and Road initiative and suggestions for developing China-Mauritania trade, culture and political exchanges. Counselor Wang also welcomed the arrival of Dean Shao. The participants in Mauritania also expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Confucius Institute. Dean Shao expressed his gratitude to the embassy for the invitation, actively responded to Mauritania’s willingness to cooperate and promoted the Confucius Institute.

      At the seminar, Mauritania side invited a wide range of guests with representativeness and certain influence, including the Mauritania National TV reporters, the Ministry of Culture officials, the head of the Oriental Linguistics Department at Nouakchott University, the Dean of the Arab Language Institute at Laayoune University, the Mauritania Students Studying in China Association and core members in the Silk Road China-Mauritania Cultural Exchange center.
